CapTel is short for captioned telephone. CapTel telephone users place a call in the same way as dialing a traditional phone. CapTel uses voice recognition technology to display verbatim captions of the conversation in the telephone’s screen, allowing the person to hear and read all comments.
24-hour-a-day service is offered at no cost to users. Users are responsible for their own long distance charges.
